Suicide Prevention Coaching Session

  • Program Outline

    This 2 hr, small group coaching session aims to consolidate the learnings from Black Dog Institute’s Advanced Training in Suicide Preventions (ATSP) or Talking About Suicide in General Practice (TASIGP) workshops.

    The session is aimed at improving the recognition of warning signs for suicidality and the development of collaborative safety plans that incorporate the involvement of support people in the person’s life as well as creating a network of health professionals and relevant services to assist the person in remaining safe.

    The coaching sessions are entirely interactive with a presentation of participant led case studies.

  • Accreditation

    Accreditation with the RACGP and ACCRM – 1.5 hrs Educational Activity (EA) and 1.5 hrs Reviewing Performance (RP)

  • Prerequisites
    • Completion of Black Dog Institute’s Advanced Training in Suicide Prevention training course or Talking About Suicide in General Practice Training Course
    • Preparation of case studies for discussion in the coaching session -1 hr pre work prior to session
