DESCRIPTION:  \nNOTE: All times listed are AEDT/AEST \nGPs often play a central role in the provision of healthcare to communities in the immediate\, acute phase of emergency situations\, and on an ongoing basis for the long-term recovery of individuals and their broader community. \n  \nEmergency Service Workers are one of the high-risk groups for trauma exposure and are more vulnerable to developing mental health problems. These mental health conditions have significant impact on their employment\, family/relationships\, and wellbeing. \n  \nThis workshop has been designed with a focus on GPs\, to diagnose patients with acute stress disorder\, post-traumatic stress disorder and other comorbidities. Evidence based guidelines will be used as the foundation to appropriately diagnose and identify treatment pathways including recommended referrals\, trauma focused psychological therapy and psychological first aid to help support their management of emergency service workers. DESCRIPTION:This course provides case based review of ECG interpretation for nurses\, doctors & paramedics. \n \nECG interpretation is a complex skill that requires practice and experience. Using a framework for interpretation helps provide foundational knowledge to develop and maintain the skills needed to interpret ECGs accurately. Using real-world experience\, this course will link ECG interpretation to patient case studies to help you focus on identifying the key aspects of analysis including: \n\nBasic ECG anatomy including waveforms\, complexes and intervals.\nAbnormal ECG tracing for patients with common cardiovascular conditions including Atrial Fibrillation\, Heart Blocks\, Bundle Branch Blocks and ST changes.\nECG interpretation of significant cardiac conditions including ACS.\nThe role of ECGs to determine appropriate treatment plans including referral to specialist care.\n\nDuring this course\, you will acquire a structured approach to analyzing ECGs including a step-by-step method for evaluating rhythm\, rate\, axis\, intervals and morphology to ensure a comprehensive and accurate interpretation based on the patient’s clinical presentation. \n  \nTo optimise your learning\, this course will be delivered via webinars with practice points following each session with interactive case studies. Additional skills videos will be included demonstrating management of abnormal ECGs including cardioversion and transthoracic emergency pacing. DESCRIPTION:  \nNOTE: All times listed are AEDT/AEST \nGPs often play a central role in the provision of healthcare to communities in the immediate\, acute phase of emergency situations\, and on an ongoing basis for the long-term recovery of individuals and their broader community. \n  \nEmergency Service Workers are one of the high-risk groups for trauma exposure and are more vulnerable to developing mental health problems. These mental health conditions have significant impact on their employment\, family/relationships\, and wellbeing. \n  \nThis workshop has been designed with a focus on GPs\, to diagnose patients with acute stress disorder\, post-traumatic stress disorder and other comorbidities. Evidence based guidelines will be used as the foundation to appropriately diagnose and identify treatment pathways including recommended referrals\, trauma focused psychological therapy and psychological first aid to help support their management of emergency service workers. DESCRIPTION:  \n\n		\n		\n			\n				\n			\n			\n		\n\n\n\nProgram Outline\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSuicide Prevention Skills Build Training for Pharmacists & Pharmacy Assistants is a follow-on training program\, for pharmacists and pharmacy assistants who have completed the Black Dog Institute’s Suicide Prevention Training for Pharmacists. \nThis practical and interactive 2 hour session will build on the first program\, with a focus on practicing the conversation skills required when someone in your pharmacy may be displaying suicidal signs and symptoms. You will also discuss Staged Supply in your context\, as ‘means restriction’ is known to be effective in preventing suicide. Pharmacists can play a role in reducing access to means for self-poisoning for those presenting at community pharmacists. You will explore a Staged Supply conversation tool\, developed by pharmacists\, as a key resource to improve the Staged Supply process for those receiving it for mental health reasons and help pharmacists in interactions with customers. The final activity explores integrating the tools and behaviours to your pharmacy climate\, culture and workflow and some tips for your own selfcare. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\nPrerequisites\n\n\n\n\n\n\nParticipants must have completed Black Dog Institute’s Suicide Prevention Training for Pharmacists \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\nLearning Objectives\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIdentify risk factors and warning signs of someone having suicidal thoughts\nPrepare for a conversation with someone who may display suicidal signs and symptoms\nHave a conversation with someone who is displaying suicidal signs and symptoms\nDevelop and action implementation strategies to embed suicide prevention (staged supply) into the pharmacy in which they work including training other staff\nRecognise support and resources on suicidality\nRefer to referral pathways to keep someone safe\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

It aims to bring the care provided at GRH in line with the Australian Heart Failure Clinical Guidelines and will assess the need for a dedicated Heart Failure service at GRH\, by retrospective review of medical records. SUMMARY:Hepatitis B in Primary Care
DESCRIPTION:GPs play a crucial role in ensuring improved health outcomes for people with hepatitis B\, through testing\, diagnosis\, informed clinical management and support of individuals and families. This webinar will provide GPs with introductory knowledge regarding the care and management of hepatitis B. \nIn 2020\, an estimated 222\, 559 people were living with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) in Australia\, with 27% undiagnosed and 77.4% were not engaged in regular care. Guideline-based management and treatment of CHB can prevent liver cancer\, with CHB being the primary cause of liver cancer worldwide. General Practitioners are critical to reduce preventable deaths from liver cancer. \nThis webinar will also highlight and embed strategies and resources for clinicians to assist with increasing the number of people with hepatitis B being managed in a community setting and the benefits of this. \n\n\n\nLearning outcomes\n\nIdentify priority populations for hepatitis B testing in Australia.\nInterpret hepatitis B serology results.\nDescribe the role of primary care in the testing\, diagnosis and management of patients with hepatitis B in the community.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFacilitator\n \nDr Simon Hazeldine\nConsultant Gastroenterologist\nDr Hazeldine is a Consultant Gastroenterologist\, Hepatologist and General Physician who did the majority of his medical training in the UK. He obtained his medical degree from Imperial College School of Medicine\, London in 2002 and completed his specialist training in 2013 including a Hepatology and Liver Transplant Fellowship in Addenbrookes Hospital\, Cambridge and Southampton General Hospital gaining his subspecialty MRCP qualification in hepatology. Dr Hazeldine currently works at Fiona Stanley Hospital where he is Clinical Lead for Hepatology. He is also Head of the Endoscopy department at Armadale and Kalamunda Hospitals. \n\n\n\n\n\nPresenter\n \nDr Caran Cheung\nCaran is a s100 HBV and HIV prescriber. She works in General Practice in inner Sydney and has a special interest in sexual health\, viral hepatitis and addiction medicine. She splits her clinical work between Mascot Medical\, AOD in the public sector and is a clinical editor at South Eastern Sydney HealthPathways. She enjoys providing sexual health education to GPs.
