DESCRIPTION:Injury Matters\, through the Stay On Your Feet® program\, are delivering a 2-hour training workshop on ‘Medication and falls in older adults’ with presenters Dr Andrew Stafford and Dr Tin Fei Sim. The workshop will provide participants with the knowledge and confidence to identify and assess for falls risk in older adults and recommend the appropriate interventions. \nThis workshop aims to: \n\nIncreased knowledge of common medicines that can increase the risk of falls.\nIncreased knowledge in deprescribing for falls risk and what the current evidence suggests.\nIncreased skill in identifying patients who may have an increased risk of fall and discussing ways to prevent these.\nIncreased confidence in discussing medicines as a risk factor for falls.\nIncreased knowledge in identifying falls risk screening tools currently used in the Australian healthcare setting.\nIncrease confidence in discussing the role of pharmacists in reducing falls risks in older adults.\n\nThis workshop is aimed at pharmacy students\, early career and practising pharmacists. \nThis activity has been accredited for 1.5 hours of Group 1 CPD (or 1.5 CPD credit) suitable for inclusion in an individual pharmacist’s CPD plan\, which can be converted to 1.5 hours of Group 2 CPD (or 3.0 CPD credits) upon successful completion of relevant assessment activities. \nFREE REGISTER HERE

DESCRIPTION:BreastScreen WA’s FREE screening mammogram service is coming to Kalbarri from 19 January 2022 – 3 February 2022 and the mobile clinic will be located at Kalbarri Health Centre. \nScreening mammography is for women without breast symptoms.\n Women aged 50 to 74 years will receive invitations for this period.\n Women aged 40 to 49 years who attended previously will also be re-invited.\n Women over 75 years are welcome to attend but will not be routinely invited.\nThese women need to ring 13 20 50 for an appointment.\n Women aged under 40 years are not eligible for a screening mammogram.\n BreastScreen WA has special permission to use the electoral roll to identify women\nin the target age group\, 50-74 years. However\, some women are not on the electoral\nroll or have recently changed their address and we particularly need your assistance\nin encouraging these women to make an appointment.
