DESCRIPTION:The Mental Health Commission’s Valuable Conversation training is designed to increase confidence in delivering Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) prevention. The training covers: \n• Reflective Practice as a tool to improve the way we work with clients. \n• Trauma Informed Care and Practice to help us recognise why alcohol use may happen in pregnancy. \n• Motivational Interviewing to better understand and express empathy towards our clients. \n• FASD prevention using the National Strategic Action Plan to guide us in providing holistic care. \n• Brief Interventions to bring together new knowledge and skills practise with the AUDIT-C and ‘Five As’. \nThis event does not provide information on FASD diagnosis or treatment. \nTo register or for more information contact: FASDprevention@mhc.wa.gov.au
