Tell us, where you are from and how did you get to be a Nurse in the Midwest-Gascoyne region?
I came to Australia from France in 2007 on a Working Holiday Visa. My intention at the time was to travel and work around Australia. My first job was in Perth as a community mental health nurse then I was offered a contract in Geraldton at WACHS and I’ve been here ever since! I didn’t get very far around Australia did I!? Thankfully as I’ve been living here a while now, I have managed to travel around and see many different parts of this wonderful country.
What do you love about the Midwest-Gascoyne?
The climate, the small city feeling, the sense of community, being by the ocean and everything to do with the lifestyle.
Did you always want to be a nurse?
No, not at all! I started with a language degree with an intention to become a translator. To fund my studies, I was working as a nursing assistance and really enjoyed it, that’s when I decided to switch professions!
